BCM at OU

OU Collegiate Ministry Report

Campus Minister: Shane Kammerer 2016-2017

Our OU BCM Mission:

We are focused on reaching students for Christ, walking with them to maturity and deploying them as reproducing laborers for the harvest.

OU BCM Staff:

We are missionaries to the University of Oklahoma sent from the local Baptist churches of the Union Baptist Association and the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. Our job on campus as a staff is to declare the Gospel, develop quality disciples and to deploy reproducing laborers to churches locally, across the state and around the world.

Other Staff Facts:

The BGCO provides a salary for the BCM Director and Associate Directors. For the 2016-2017 school year, OU BCM had 6 individual staffers who raised their own funds to be on mission at OU. Each staffer raises money through the North American Mission Board as a Mission Service Corp Missionary, but they receive their salaries through the BGCO as their employer.  Other details about the OU BCM staff and their biographies can be found at OUBCM.COM.

New BCM Building:

In 2017 OU officially obtained property at 1203 Elm Avenue near campus for the purpose of building a 28,000 sq. ft. building to service the campus of OU. The “Sowing a Legacy” fundraising campaign raised $6.2 million dollars to build the new building on the OU campus. The new BCM will include an office space, coffee shop, bookstore and a large multipurpose worship space.
