OU Collegiate Ministry Report

Campus Minister: Shane Kammerer 2017-2018

Our OU BCM Mission:

We are focused on reaching students for Christ, walking with them to maturity and deploying them as reproducing laborers for the harvest.

OU BCM Staff:

We are missionaries to the University of Oklahoma sent from the local Baptist churches of the Union Baptist Association and the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. Our job on campus as a staff is to declare the Gospel, develop quality disciples and to deploy reproducing laborers to churches locally, across the state and around the world.

Other Staff Facts:

The BGCO provides a salary for the BCM Director and Associate Directors. For the 2017-2018 school year, OU BCM had 8 individual staffers who raised their own funds to work with students at OU. Each staffer raises money through the North American Mission Board as a Mission Service Corp Missionary, but they receive their salaries through the BGCO as their employer. Other details about the OU BCM staff and their biographies can be found at oubcm.com/staff.

New BCM Building:

The New OU BCM is officially open at 1203 Elm Avenue. This new state- of-the- art facility is on campus between the Fraternity/Sorority houses and freshmen housing. The new "debt free" BCM includes an office space, coffee shop, bookstore, industrial kitchen and a large multipurpose meeting space.

In 2017-2018

On average BCM had 135 students attending the weekly large-group Bible study called Paradigm and 200 attending the 14 smaller community groups called Village Life. In 2017 we started a new program called Freshman Challenge which focused on reaching freshman students. We averaged around 55 freshmen each week in the fall of 2017. We also have a ministry to international students called OU Global Village. At Global Village outings in 2017-2019 we had anywhere from 30-80 international students coming to various studies, events and outings.

Evangelism - 85 people through OU BCM have been involved in evangelism and evangelism training in 2017-2018.

500 lost OU students and personal friends of our BCM leaders were prayed for weekly and gospel conversations where initiated with many.

15 students prayed to receive Christ from September 2017- September 2018.

26 conversions of others associated with OU BCM students happened from September 2017- September 2018.
